Cheer Up

"Let us not bow our heads to be complaining. Life has been good to us all, even when that sky is raining." The Band, Unfaithful Servant
There is certainly a lot to complain about and I sure do my share, but, really, what does that solve? If you have problems. deal with them and, all the while you are doing that, remember how sweet life is. Remember the beauty, the wonder and the love Spend some time, as much as possible, each day, thinking of the good in your life, past, present, and future. Believe me, things will get better, if you let them. Not magically. You have to make the effort, but they will get better.
In the meantime, focus on the good, Acknowledge the bad, you cannot deny it. But, put your energy toward the positive. This is not a naïve, Pollyannaish message. It is the way things are..
We have short lives. Do Not waste your time dwelling in anger and darkness.
Now, Friday is here. Enjoy a happy and Blessed weekend.

The Weekend is Here

It's Saturday. Hooray for the weekend, If you have off, relax and have fun. It you have to work, make lots of money.
A great thing to do would be to take a virtual trip to Kindle and check out the new ebooks I have out. Sorry, I have to sneak in a short commercial.
This is a two part story. They are sold separately and each can stand alone, but they are better when read consecutively,
Principalities of the Air, Part One, Ravening Wolves, by John Wright, tells the tale of two ancient enemies, who meet in modern times and find themselves in a battle over the fate of two very unique children,
Part Two, Cut Down to the Ground, is a continuation of the story, with the same enemies, in somewhat different forms, fighting a new war, this one for the fate of mankind.
The stories are tense, funny and intelligent. You will be on the edge of your seat and your brain will be put into overdrive, and at times, you will be smiling, laughing, and moved to tears. These are tales of nobility and heroism, without the fantasy, Sword and Sorcerer stuff.
Personally, and I admit to a little bias, I think that reading them would be a fine way to pass a few hours this weekend.
However you spend your weekend, I hope it is a fun, pleasant and Blessed couple of days.

America - Relax

I normally use this blog to rant and rave about the serious issues plaguing America. Lord knows, there are plenty/ The economy is downright weird, a mix of record high stocks and tremendous underemployment. The education system is a mess, with kids graduating yet unable to find their own state on a map, read at anymore than a sixth grade level, or write a coherent sentence.

We have troops all over the World, fighting wars that seem like they are now permanent. We have been in Afghanistan longer than we were in Vietnam. Iraq is a disaster and, Syria is being reduced to rubble. The tensions between the US and Russia are at the highest level since the Cold War ended and that fat little lunatic in North Korea is merrily testing nukes and missiles.

The Presidential campaign is stumbling toward an end. It is clear that most Americans, no matter who they plan on voting, for are disgusted with both candidates. Trump is promising to cut taxes while spending incredible amounts to stimulate jobs. That is completely impossible. Hillary is promising free college to everyone, an equally ridiculous proposal. All either will do is run up the debt, which will lead to the Fed running more money, which will just send inflation through the roof.

The answer? Take the weekend off and relax. All of these problems will be there on Monday morning. Put your worries aside for the weekend. The Ryder Cup is being played, baseball is winding down its season and there is plenty of college and pro football to watch. If there is nice weather where you live, get out and do something. Remember, winter is coming, so enjoy the last of the warm skies.

Read a book, watch a movie, take a nap, go out with friends and family. Do something you enjoy. Have some fun. The troubles will still be there on Monday morning, so get some rest and have spme fun.
