If You Dance, You Have To Pay The Fiddler

Many years ago, when JFK was killed. Malcolm X said that it was just the chickens coming home to roost. We are seeing a similar thing in American culture now.
Many political leaders, over the last many years, have been found with nasty skeletons in their closet, including our current leader and some of our recent ones. Scandal is the order of the day. The entertainment industry is awash in sex scandals. Police forces have more than a few shady officers as does the FBI and the CIA and most any other combination f letters you can name. Churches are not exempt either.
I can guarantee one thing. What we hear is just the tip of a very dark ice burg, These people are very adept at hiding their improprieties and, being the shrewd folks they are, realize that some issues are going to get out. The minor incidents are slipped out and, while disturbing, draw attention away from more scandalous behavior,
Now, you may ask, what does that have to do with the average American? Plenty. We support these folks. We joke about misbehavior. If they line our pockets, we turn a deaf ear. We vote in politicians who we know are as crooked as a dog's hind leg.. We pay good money to attend entertainment events starring people with horrific personal habits. Worse, we often emulate these people/
Our Creator loves us. Why? I sometimes wonder, but therein lies Kierkegaard's existential problem. But, that aside, The Creator's mercy is tempered by justice. The New Testament scholar, James Dominick Croissan once wrote that justice without compassion in horrific, but compassion without justice is inane. We are forgiven our sins, but we have to pay a price. I know from personal experience that , while yes, I am forgiven, I have had to pat a price for my misbehavior. Hopefully, that debt is now almost redeemed. This is the way the Cosmos works. If that makes you unhappy, so be it.
Forgive. Certainly and always you must do that. Judge not, in the sense that you must not abandon anyone and must always be ready to help (also, only God knows enough about anyone to see the whole picture and cast an appropriate judgement). But, do not continue supporting bad behavior. And, especially, stop joining in.
If you dance you have to pay the fiddler and, if it is the devil doing the fiddling, you have to pay the devil's price. Trust me, that is a high price.

Ready for the New Year?

Tidings of Comfort and Joy. I hope all of you have a great Christmas and get a chance to relax and recharge because, come the New Year, you're going to need  ot.

The new tax bill, when the effects are finally realized by the average American, is going to cause an enormous \outrage. There is no way around it. The rich will get richer and the poor will stay about the same. The Middle Class, what little is left of it, is going to be hit very hard. Hopefully, their outrage will be the end of the 2 political parties. With any lick and a little pushing, they will go the way of the dinosaurs.

Health care premiums will soar and the bloated, medical system will collapse. Take care og yourselves because doctors will be joining the political parties on the road to oblivion, at least in their present form. It will be a hoot to watch when they are forced to realize that they are just humans, nit deities.

The parade of sex abuse allegations will continue. People love scandal ad it is a good distraction. Not to make light of such abuse, it is a rotten thing to do, but, when you go to work un entertainment, you should expect incidents. It is wrong, but it is hust the way of things/

The weather will grow wilder. Think not? I live in Coastal Georgia. We have little rain this time of year and still, we gave dauly coastal flood warnings and the same is true up and down the Atlantic coast. Think what fun next years hurricane season will be.

But, od course, all of that pales next to the upcoming war with N. Korea. Make o mistake. That war is very likely. Mike Pompeo, ex-military, current CUA head is set to replace Rullersin in the State Department, not a move likely to be made in a time of peace. The only good thing is that the actuak war will be brief, The aftermath will be nightmarish,

But, even that will be insignificant if volcanoes keep blowing. They greatly effect climate and we have enough of that already. Even worse, it the percolating Yellowstone Cauldera blows, politics will be over, as will war and Western Civilization.

But, you know what? So long ago. Jesus said that such things must come to pass and urged
not to be troubled, No matter how bad it gets, something will come through and that something will grow and blossom.

The point? Enjoy your Holiday Season. Enjoy and relax, Next year may be very interesting.
