Enough. I Surrender

I have written often of my love for what this Country used to be. It was not just nostalgia. I recognize the flaws and loved things in spite of them, Or it maybe because of them, things get confusing. I always have hoped for a return to the best parts of those days. But, alas, that is not to be. I will still live , as much as possible, by my own values, but, as Jesus said, render unto Cesar that which is Cesar's. So, I will have to make accommodations.
We now are a Socialist nation. Like it or not, get over it. This has been evolving since Eisenhower's warnings about the military-industrial complex grabbing power. Things slowly tightened and now it is full bore/ Pay no attention to Trump's rhetoric. He is the shill for big business (look at the huge corporate tax breaks). We are getting more, not less involved in foreign relations that are not our business. And, instead of solving problems, we are treated to daily rantings about the FBI and Justice Dept. and constant badgering about illegal aliens and 'fake news." Problems? Yes but nothing compared to affordable medical care and housing. Oh,  by the way, inflation is ramping up. I almost bought the act for a while, but no more..                                                                                                  We are also treated to a display of frequent medals being given to soldiers and policemen. They may be deserving, but what used to be rare is now a frequent display. These quasi-military shows have always been popular propaganda tools. All the big 20th Century dictators loved them.
Most telling was Trump;s tweet a couple of days ago. He called the press 'the enemy of the people. That is a line straight out of 1984. We are in a rising corporate-military government- led Socialism Back in the day, that was the government of Nazi Germany.
Our alternative seems to be the kind of Populist Socialism of Bernie Sanders. God only knows what that would be like.
I know I promised no more politics, but today brought a small run in with Government ineptness. It is all resolved now, but it seems that we will no longer be able to escape  the hands of our loving and concerned Federal Government. The States, where I had placed political hope, are either broke, confused and overwhelmed, or simply as incompetent as Washington.
So, for a spell, perhaps a long one, don't even bother trying to fight the monster that is the Federal Government. Stay out of its way when possible. Take advantage of what it gives if it is to your advantage. Stay true to your principals, but try to avoid jail or worse. Again, live the way you want without rubbing their noses in it. All that means walking a fairly thin tight rope, so stay balanced. Do not be foolish. Don  Quixote did not win one of his battles against those windmills.
I was going to write about the glories of Autumn today. That will come Monday. I had to get this off my mind. Have a fine Labor Day weekend..
And remember, Big Brother loves you. And those of you who have read Orwell's frighteningly realistic novel, 1984 (read it before the Powers that Be finally ban it and burn all the copies - read it and pass it on) will understand what I mean by 2 + 2 = 5.

Arrofance and the Health Issue

 I touched on John Kerry's extreme arrogance the other day and it started me thinking about another example of arrogance, that of the health industry. The whole lot, doctors, hospitals, drug companies, alternative medicine practitioners/ Anyone who can think will notice that all bodies are different and function differently
My sister could eat monstrous meals and not gain an ounce while her husband could eat 1 chip and put on pounds. I have known folks who could drink beer all day and never get fat and, seemingly never get drunk   I have known old ladies who smoked 3 packs a day and lived to be 96 and health food enthusiast who worked out 3 times a day die of cancer at 40.  My Dad's Mom ate fatty, salty food every day and loved to be 90 and even then, and accident, not her health, killed her.
I will pay attention to the Medical community when they can explain such things to me. In the ,
meantime. I just use common sense, do what I want, and never worry. That works just fine

Arrogance that Never Sleeps

 \I mentioned John Kerry the other day, something I had hoped to never do, but, alas, duty calls. Old John, along with good old Barak Obama negotiated the absolute worst deal the Us has ever made, the Iran nuclear deal. Remember, we gave them an enormous sum of cash and they promised to be nice. Folks, this was  worse deal than NAFTA and that was dreadful.
President Trump is well on the way to dumping the whole deal  but, lo and behold, there in the background is Kerry, trying to keep the deal alive This is an all time high when it comes to arrogance. I mean, this even tops Hillary's ' deplorable' comment. Luckily, Old John has been talking, it seems, to some high placed Iranians and never bothered to register as a foreign agent. Well, this is what they went after Manafort for, so lets see of anyone goes after Kerry. These people make me ill
PS Since writing this, Trump did pull out of the Iran deal. Also, hats off to them for getting rgosw folks out of N. Kprea.

Wrong Again

Well, Igott that one wring. The military is now running America and I thought they might bring some discipline and sanity to the land. Nope. Discipline? Yes. Sanity? No.

Trump is re0starting the war on Aphgabisran to stop terrorism, to stop ISIS. Sorry, that ship sailed long ago. ISIS is Worldwide, feeding on poverty and ignorance, traits common to all lands, This is what his generals want and this shows their total lack of sanity.

We cannot win that war. First off, we have no definition of what winning there would be. We may destroy the anti-government forces, for awhile, but they would just come back when we leave. If course we could stay forever, but we cannot afford that since we are flat broke.

What do we want there? That wretched land had rocks and sand, goats, opium, hashish, and folks who love to fight. We have plenty of rocks and sand, we grow vast amounts of marijuana and so much opium here already that folks are dropping like flies from addiction. We raise lots of goats and we certainly have too many folks who like to fight.

The real r4eason? Rea dOrwell's 1094. Nations fought constant battles over useless land, supposedly to stop terrorsits. It was all a sham. They used fear and pseudo-patriotism to keep populations in line. Why? The simple love of power. This is insanity and I am afraid those wielding power in our once freat Nation are quite insane..
